ABSTRACT
Comparative Study of Zooplankton Culture using poultry
dropping, Cow dung and Piggery dung was carried out during the course of this
study. This project research was carried out in the Department of Fisheries and
Aquatic Resources Management laboratory MOUAU and it lasted for five weeks.
Seven aquaria were used tagged A1, A2, B1, B2,
C1, 02 and D1 A2, B2and
C2are the replications while aquarium D is the control. The aquaria
were then filled up with 20 litters of water after which the organic manures
were introduced after fermenting them for four days. The ranges of
physico-chemical parameters obtained during this experimental period (PH 7.35
to 7.51, Dissolved oxygen 5.68 to 6.98, Temperature 273-27.6 )were favourable
to the growth of zooplankton and other aquatic organisms, There was a
significant different between the organic matter contents on PH values ( p
