ABSTRACT
The effect of
land use types on forms of potassium in sortie selected sites in South East,
Nigeria were studied in the Soil Science laboratory of Michael Okpara
University of Agriculture ,Umudike. The land use types studied were mixed
farming land, sole cassava land, secondary forest site, permanent pasture site,
oil palm plantation ,quarry site , fish pond site and refuse dump site. The
forms of potassium determined on the microprocessor flame photometer were water
soluble potassium , exchangeable potassium, potassium reserve and potassium
supplying power. The data collected were subjected to Analysis of variance
(ANOVA) for completely randomized design (CRD) while its differences between
means were separated by Fishers least significant differcnce (F-LSD) at 5%
significant level. The results showed that refuse dump site(RDS) had the
