This study analyzed the effect of custom and excise duties on economic growth in Nigeria. The specific objective were; to determine the extent to which custom and excise duties affects gross domestic product, determine the extent to which custom and excise duties affects capital expenditure and determine the extent to which custom and excise duties affects recurrent expenditure. The study employed time series data spanning from 2007 to 2016. The dataset was sourced from central bank statistical bulletin. The stated hypotheses were test with ordinary least square simple regression. The simple regression analysis results revealed showed that custom and excise duties have a significant effect on gross domestic product, that Custom and excise duties have a significant effect on capital expenditure and Custom and excise ditties have a no significant effect on recurrent expenditure. It was recommended that customs and excise duties leak away at the borders, wharfs, airports and seaports through the activities of customs official and other security agents at such places. Government should strengthen patrols and controls those places and also fish out bad-egg who use their positions for personal benefits. This will surly enhance revenue through customs and excise duties and gross domestic product by extension.
