ABSTRACT

This research work examined the ejfect ofccipita/ budgeting imp/an/a/ion on corporate profitability in

Nigeria. chapter one dealt with the introduction, the background of/he study, the statement of the

probleni, hypothesis, objectiie oft/ic st/id)' etc.. The objective of the study is to determine the effect of

cup/ice! budgeting imp/anlat/on on corporate proJItab/iity in Nigeria. However, chapter two dealt with

the literature review of difJè rent auihoir, textbooks and related journal ie'ere reviewed. The chapter

three //cus on the research niethodo/ogr use, the research designed employed was cx posi facto

research design. Data were soierced jroin secondary sources. Analyser of dce/a and testing of

hypotheses were done through the aid ofstuiistical tools such as tables, and multiple regression model.

In chiepier four, the researcher analyze the c/ala the Jindings,from data analyzed indicates that capital

budgeting implantation has significant effect on the profitability of selected conipanies in Nigeria,

the st tic/v proved there is a signifIcant relationship between capital budgeting implantation and Return

0/i Asset, profit margin and return on investment companies in Nigeria.,. The study however revealed

that i/management should ensure adequate implenmentation of capital budget in the company especially

in areas of economic services and socio comm unity services as this has a significant capacity to trigger

rapid growth of the company on the long run, increase the percentage of the total expenditure that

goes' to capital budget as this will put the company on i/ic vantage position for rapid growth which

when sustained will culminate into economic development. i'his research recommends adequate

miceasieres should be put in picice by mncmagers of these Jlrms to iniprove and grow their profitability
