ABSTRACT

Many variables in Nigerian  economy have significant effect on the day to day running of the organizations. This study tries to analyze the effect of budgetary control  on  performance  in  organization;    qualitative  and  quantitative  research design methods were used to collect information from the management and employees  of the  organization.  Pearson's  correlation  co-efficient  was  used  in testing   the  hypotheses  and  some  findings  were  gotten  which  included  that budgetary control helps in achieving organizational goals, it assist management in assessing  the  level  of  performance  and  that  there  exist  a  strong  relationship between budgetary control  and performance.  From the research 'study  findings, budgetary controls are seen as important tools in planning and control of resources to  enhance  performance  in  many  organizations.   Recommendations  were  made based on the findings.
