ABSTRACT
This project concerns
the design and construction of a microcontroller based moving message
electronic billboard system. The dot-matrix technology is the underlying
principle of the display system and the streaming effect employs the scanning
method of displaying information under the hardwired system using the dot
matrix arrangement of light emitting diodes. The light emitting diodes which
form a major part of the hardware components of the system provide suitable way
of displaying the information, radiating light with specific colors. The
hardwired network is interfaced with a programmed microcontroller in order to
achieve the desired system. The designed system is efficient, re-programmable,
reliable, maintainable and available to the satisfaction of the users. The
designed electronic billboard system will enhance our economy by providing
strong revenue generation and job creation in our community
