ABSTRACT

The ultimate goal of information technology (the use of computer to transfer data) is to extend the numerous advantages offered by computer technology to every area of life consequently, information system is introduced to handle the numerous records encountered everyday in the fish farm management system. Fish farm management is the art of fish culture and the husbandry of aquatic organism. The use of computers in its management is an important information producing tools because of the many technological improvements in the hardware and software for information processing. In this project work, I have employed information system judiciously in handling the excessive records encountered in fish farming and employee data, for some tasks to be achieve such as planning, business forecast and outstanding information acquisition of species of fish and its features. Basically, the inception of these is to reduce much paper work, redundancy, inaccuracy that are as a result of imperfection in manual record handling for the smooth operation of fish farm management to bring about a high degree of data integrity. A program written in VISUAL BASIC is used to implement it with program codes and forms. A database management system (MICROSOFT ACCESS) is employed for the proper handling of the records.
