ABSTRACT
Plants has formed the basis of traditional systems which has
been used against a wide range of' infections diseases, the plant Anthocleista
vogelii, has been screened for antibacterial and phytochemical properties. The
results obtained provide pharmacological evidence to support the use of the
plants in the treatment of disease caused by the test organisms studied. The
result also supports the use of water (aqueous extract) and ethanol were active
against the test organisms E.coli and S. aureus. The plant Anthocleista vogelii
has found to be active by inhibiting the test organisms and so it is a significant
antibacterial agent.
