Analysis Of Published Financial Statement As An Aid In Making Investment Decision (A Case Study Of Selected Quoted Companies)
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research project was to find out how financial statement analysis seives as an aid to make meaningful in vestment decision. This research project was embarked on because most investment companies do not implement meaningful decision that will enhance their investment opportunities. Moreover, most in vestment companies do not study investment opportunities as to understand the risk associated with in vestment proposal as to make meaningful decision before investing their resources. In conducting this research, I made use of extensive field research. In formation was collected via primary and secondary. Primary source were collected from questionnaire while the secondary were from textbook, journals, periodicals and other related literature. The population of this study includes all the management and senior staff working in the selected Nigeria Companies. It was found from the result therein that managers and investors find it helpful and convenience to analyzed financial statement when making investment decision for available investment opportunities and that investment decision are geared towards profit maximization. Consequently, the following recommendation were offered to potential investors that they should engage or evaluate and analyzed investment opportunities before embarking on it to avoid investment failure and also to make affective use of profitability ratio since.
