ABSTRACT

This 'rock is an investigation into the role c micro-finance banking in a developing  economyy, using occupational groups of micro- enterprises as window. In the pursuit of the fading of this work, three study hypotheses here formulated, and each were analyzed through tabulated collated of responses of the sample. The data responses were built to address, issues raised in the statement of research problems revolving around perceived handi aps to the development of microfmance banking in Nigeria: as well is to the core study objective which was set at determine g to what extent micro-fiancé banking impacts on micro-enterprises' development. Two basic sources of data were used: prirnry and secondary. \Vhile primary so ree data was presented in the collated respond is on questionnaire items, secondary ;ource data came diverse, written sources and 'ised to lay the theoretical foundations of the investigation. The primary source data ver was used in testing the validity of he study hypotheses. The major findings showed a high level of awareness of micro- finance banking among micro-enterprises most of which are rural based. Another signify ;ant finding showed an improvement of an already existing culture among rural dwelled s and micro-business operators; and that micro,-finance banking holds the potential t. national economic development. it if these potentials are properly tapped.
