detennme the relationship between consumption of street foods. A descriptive
cross sectional study in which quantitative and qualitative data were collected
using a structured questionnaire. This study, encompassing a sample of 165
respondents, explores the intricate interplay between dietary choices and body
man index (BMI) within a specific population. The research uncovered several
noteworthy findings that shed light on the relationship between food
consumption and BMI. One of the key findings reveals a significant association
between the consumption of certain foods and BMI. Notably, individuals who
reported consuming nutrient-dense foods such as pulses (45.1%) and dark green
leafy vegetables (57.3%) exhibited lower BMis, signifying the importance of
incorporating these foods into one's diet. On the other hand, a positive
correlation between BMI and the consumption of eggs (29.3%) and certain meat
categories (87.8%) highlights the need for moderation in these dietary choices.
Moreover, the study underscores the role of cultural preferences and regional
variations in shaping dietary habits. These findings emphasize the importance
of tailoring dietary recommendations to align with cultural norms, as well as
acknowledging and addressing regional disparities in food choices. While the
study presents significant correlations, it's essential to note that these
results indicate associations rather than causation. In conclusion, this study
underscores the importance of promoting nutrient-dense foods, portion control,
and culturally sensitive dietary recommendations in the context of BMI
management. Further longitudinal research is needed to unravel the long-term
implications of dietary habits on BMI and to explore the intricate interplay of
genetic and lifestyle factors in the context of weight management.
