ABSTRACT
Eighteen large white x landrace
weaner pigs 6.03kg at twelve weeks of age were used in a 49day feeding trial in
a completely randomized design to evaluate the replacement value of Raw Bambara
groundnut waste (N13NW) for soy bean meal (SBM) in the diets of weaner pigs.
Treatments having 0%, 10%, and 20% RBW replaced corresponding weights of SBM in
the diet. The three dietary treatments were further replicated two times with
three pigs per replicate. Feed and portable waler were supplied ad libitum.
Daily feed intake, daily weight gain, feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), total weight
gain, cost per kg weight gain, cost of total feed consumed, cost of production,
gross revenue, profit, cost. differential and relative cost benefit were determined.
All data were processed and subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) for a
completely randomized design. results showed that html l)o(lv weight, average
daily gain, average feed intake , FCR, cost / kg weight gain, cost of total
feed consumed, and cost differential differed significantly(p>0.05) among
the diets.
