Nutritional Status Of Nursery School Aged Children In Ikwuano Local Government Area Of Abia State
ABSTRACT
A total of four community- based studies were conducted in
lkwuano Local Government Area of Abia state to determine the nutritional status
of nursery school children from 2 -5 years of age. Data was drawn from a total
of 100 women and 100 children between collected on personal data,
anthropometric measurements, infant/child care practices, food intake. Nutrient
intake was compared with standard recommended by food and agricultural
organization (FAO, 1988). The mean energy intake of the children was 1282.06
±9731 Level and under weight were also determined which served as nutritional
status indicators. This study provided a different view of people's knowledge
of the nutritional status of most rural people.
