ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to determine impact of internal controls system on organization's ei formance in Mikko Plastic industries limited. A survey research design was adopted in which ift' employees as sample was used and data were collected using questioinaire. Two research ;iyjotheses were. raised and tested; while the den-iographic information of the respondents were antlysed usm simple percentage, the hypotheses were tested using chi-square at a significant leel of 5% and degi ee of freedom at 6 TIe testing of the hypotheses revealed that effectiveness 1of' internal control system and management performance has enhanced the employee's performance and productivity in the organization and internal control system has assisted in mihimizing errors and forestalling irregularities in the organization. Based on the findings, it was recommended that organizational goals should be made known to all employees to enable them to work towards attaining goals, the basic components of internal controls should be clearly defined • to the eiiilyees, management should evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal control system in place in order to reveal strengths and weakness if any, that there should be a detailed accounting and administrative manual that contains the duties of the employees which should be strictly adhered to and finally top management should regularly evaluate the performarbe of the organization if it is in line with the objectives of the organization.
