ABSTRACT
The main objective of this study is to determine the impact of ADP's promotional activities on cassava production in Ikwuano L.G.A. Questionnaire's were used as research materials to source for information from 40 farmers randomly selected and 40 extension contact farmers also randomly selected from the four autonomous communities in the study area. Amongst the major identified packages supplied by ADP, ADP's cropping system was the most available. Other packages provided are soil management practices, improved cassava varieties, on — farm adaptive research, fertilizer and pesticide. Results showed that inputs which haye significant effect on output of the ADP farmers are labour and capital. Inputs that are significant for Non - ADP farmers are farm size and amount of cassava cut'ings used. Results also showed that there is significant shift in The slope as a result of use of ADP' s packages but output of the two farmers did not differ significantly. ADP packages brought about improvement in the use of inputs. Therefore ADP's promotional activities were found to be effective. To improve output of cassava farmers it was recommended that adequate credit facilities should be provided to farmers. Adequate extension services should be provided and farmers should be taught on how to make effective use of inputs to avoid over utilization.
