ABSTRACT

 This research examined the effectiveness of management Audit in Government Parastatals. A study of Imo transport Company Owerri. Data was collected from primary sources. The hypotheses used in the research were tested using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Statistical tool. The following were revealed as findings. That management audit does not assists the management to achieve the must efficient administrative of the operation. That the management audit does not influence management at all levels in the effective and efficient way in discharge of their duties and responsibilities. The company conducts management audit yearly, that they conduct internal and external audit in the corporation. That lacks of professionalism on the part of management affect the Parastatals. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends that efforts should be intensified toward the adherence to the objectives and laid down aim of the company. The company should endeavour to eliminate institutional weakness militating against its objective. There should be coordination between management and subordinate staff in order to achieve the overall objective of the company. The irregularities revealed by the management auditors should be corrected to obtain best result and improvement of the company.
