ABSTRACT

The study aimed at investigating the use of Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) to dietary management. The Chat GPT is an artificial intelligence powered tool that assists individuals in managing their dietary needs and goals. With the increasing prevalence of diet-related health issues such as obesity, diabetes, and malnutrition, there is a growing demand for innovative solutions that can provide personalized guidance and support in making healthier food choices. Systematic content analysis technique in which quantitative and qualitative data were collected using a well-structured questionnaire in the form of Google-form that captures the Nutrition care processes in dietary management. A total number of Twenty (20) Dietitians from Ten (10) selected tertiary institute by purposive selection, completed this survey. SPSS package was used to analyze the data collected. From the results obtained from this study, majority of about (45.0%) agreed that the application, Chat GPT considered the nutritional related physical findings, in the management of Under-5 malnourished child, about (60%) of the nutritional assessment was put into consideration in managing an Obese person and nutrition monitoring and evaluation was not considered at about (50%), in the dietary management of non- communicable diseases. In conclusion, results revealed that there is a significant insight level at which Chat GPT can provide dietary advice to patients and clients and help manage some health problems.
