ABSTRACT

They study examined the Evaluation of Proximate Composition of Some Plant Species that Enhance Pregnancy. A Case Study of Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria studied using different method. Pregnancy is a critical period in a woman's life, and ensuring maternal health and wellbeing is of utmost importance. Understanding the optimal propagation techniques and growth patterns ofthese plant species is crucial for ensuring their availability and accessibility. The aim of the study is to assess the proximate composition of certain plant species that have been reported to have positive effects on pregnancy in Nigerian women using women living at Umudike settlement as a case study. A well-structured questionnaire was used for data collection to obtain satisfied data. The questionnaire is made up of two (2) sections- sections A and B. Section A contains items on personal data of the respondents, while section B consists of Research questions. Also From the table 4.06 above, where the P_value is greater than Sig value (i.e 0.6450 > 0.05). Hence; we do not reject the null hypothesis (Ho) and conclude the growth characteristics of the selected plant species is independent of reproductive performance. Furthermore, the p-value ofthe Gamma, Spearman Correlation, and Pearson’s (0.5440, 0.5440c , 0.8190c) are greater than sig-value(a =0.05), and this implies that the relationship of between the plant proximate composition of some plant species has no negative associative degrees in enhancing pregnancy in some Nigerian women. Pregnant woman in Nigeria rely on traditional herbal medicine to induce or ease labour, and to treat childbirth-related complications.
