ABSTRACT
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the
effect of personal income tax evasion on government revenue so as to know the
possible suggestion on how to minimize personal income tax in Abia State.
Related literature were reviewed. The population for the work is 250 while the
sample size is 154. Primary and secondary data were used and percentage and
chi-square method were adopted for the analysis. Based on the result of the
analysis, the following findings were made: personal income tax has effect on
government revenue, and also stated that personal income tax has an impact on
the development of a state. Relevant recommendations were also made
