Effect Of Information Technology On The Operations Of Deposit Money Banks In Nigeria A Study Of First Bank Of Nigeria, Plc And Union Bank Of Nigeria, Plc.
ABSTRACT
This research was conducted for the
purpose of ascertaining the effect of information technology on the operations
of deposit money banks in Nigeria with a study of First Bank of Nigeria, Plc
and Union Bank of Nigeria. Plc. Hence, the researcher applied chi-square to
carryout test of hypotheses and analysis of data. Two hypotheses were
formulated and statistical tool was uncilest them. Based on the results of our
tests, findings were made amongst which a that there is significant effect on
the operations of deposit money banks in Nigeria caused by the use of
information technology. that there is significant effect on the customer
satisfaction of deposit money banks in Nigeria caused by the application of
information technology, and finally that modern information technological
products have helped in reducing queues in Nigerian deposit money banks. The
following recommendations advanced are: that there is need for Nigerian deposit
money banks to adjust to changes and accept the value added benefits provided
by the modern information technology, that Nigerian deposit money banks
personnels should be well trained on the use of information technological
products, that any Nigerian deposit money banks that cares about their
customers and to maintain a good hank customer relationship/customer
satisfaction should adapt to the use of information technology in their operations
to achieve better results. It is therefore believed that if these findings and
commensurate recommendations are adhered to and well implemented, there will he
a considerable in Nigerian deposit banks.
