ABSTRACT
In this project, we have taken the
liberty to examine the various means of multiplying voltages. In the course of
this work, we have been able to first look at the properties that make voltage
multipliers unique as compared to their equivalent step-up transformers. It was
of immense importance to look particularly into the voltage doublers. It does
not only form the basis of this project, it is also the simplest multiplier
circuit and practically the principle behind all voltage multiplier circuitry.
The voltage doublers are of two types and we have enumerated their areas of
differences and areas of similarities. We designed a circuit with one type of
the doubler (Full- Wave to be precise) after taking an in-depth analysis of
their various components. This circuit has been eventually constructed,
assembled and finally cased after testing to obtain the performance level.
