ABSTRACT
This
study evaluated the effect ofworking capital management on the performance
ofNigerian banks, the specific objectives are to ensure that the firm is able
to continue its operations and that it has sufficient cash flow to satisfy both
maturing short-term debt and upcoming operational expenses, analyzing the
impact ofWorking Capital Management on the financial performance ofNigerian
banks, and the general objective ofthis study isthe impact ofWorking Capital
Management on the performance of Nigerian Banks. In this study Descriptive and
Survey methods were adopted and the designs were chosen because it allows
investigation, description and recording of information in their natural
settings. A regression analysis was done on hypothesis one, hypothesis two, and
hypothesisthree ofwhich Current Ratio and Acid Test Ratio were the proxies used
in this study to measure working capital management, relationship between
working capital management and earnings per share state of Nigerian banks, and
the relationship between working capital management and growth of banks in
Nigeria. Moreover, indications and research show that the management ofworking
capital has impact on the performance of Nigerian banks whether to be positive
or negative. Financial Institutions (Banks) are essential elements of growth
and development in any given economy. Financial Institution should adopt
optimal and appropriate working capital management measuresthat will increase
its efficiency in orderto achieve a sustainable and potential stability of
growth and overall increase in financial performance.
